PO: Default Communication method from Order document profile set to Yes

Hello,

Does anyone know how PO: Default Communication method from Order document profile work?

"PO: Default Communication method from Order document. If the value for the Profile is set to No, the communication method is defaulted from the supplier site or from the supplier contact information. If the value for the profile option is set to Yes, the communication method is defaulted from the latest approved purchase order document."

What does it mean "the latest approved purchase order document" here?

1. any last document

2. last document for the same supplier

3. previous version of the same document

I checked it, and in my opinion it is 3, but If I'm wrong, it's risky set this profile to Yes, so I would like to be sure.
