Help updating the SCA Code in Job Descrition without it updating the previous SCA Code

in Human Capital Management - EBS (MOSC) Question

The SCA Code is being updated in a current Job. Upon entering the new SCA Code, the Job is updated from the very beginning versus the date that the SCA Code changed. I date track but the only option that I have is to save. Does anyone know of a way to update the SCA Code in an existing job without wiping the history of the previous SCA Code?
