9.2 Trial Edition - External Emails for Notifications

Is there a way to have notifications send external emails from a 9.2 trial edition instance?  I know this is possible for a full install but I was not sure if this feature has been disabled or simply not configured for 9.2 trial.  Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
