Functionality behind form exit Test route in P43090

Hi

Working in E9.0 and looking out some options to setup test routing at supplier level. Have noticed that " Test route" option in P43090 item/supplier relationship(form exit) and would like to understand the std business functionality built on this option. Can any one used this std option for any business sceneario ?.
