Flashback Database after Mirror Split

My customer is developing his application on a 2-node RAC database on RHEL using Oracle version 12.1.0.2. His ASM data files will be externally mirrored - at SAN level. On some weekday evenings he wants to have access to his database as it was at the start of the on-line day, and one approach he is considering is to split off one of the mirrors of his ASM storage, mount this as a separate database then flash it back to the required time.
