OTL dynamic rate changes

**This is more of an OTL question than Payroll I believe.
I would like to know if there is a way to achieve hourly rate changes for an hourly employee. If an associate steps up to work as a lead for a day, or for few hours in a day, we want that person to get the rate increase for that job classification for the time period that he worked.
For example if “Rob associate gets $50 per hour and on a weekday, he fills in as lead, and the lead rate is $60 per hour. So Rob should get $60 per hour for that day, and defaults back to his hourly rate $50 when he is working as an associate.”
