How to Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure 12.2.0.1 on Microsoft Windows (Step-by-Step)

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.0.1 and later

Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Goal

To instruct / demonstrate Step by Step Oracle Grid Infrastructure 12.2.0.1 installation on Windows.

The intention of this document is to supplement, not supplant the valuable information in the Grid Infrastructure Installation and Upgrade Guide for Windows:

Solution

1.  Create (extended or primary) partitions with logical drives for the shared disks you will use (Reference:RAC on Windows: How to Create Extended Partitions and Logical Drives Using the Diskpart Command Line Utility Document 782450.1)

2.  Reboot node from which you did not create the partitions (for example:  'node 2') and remove the Windows auto-assigned drive letters
