TCA Extension Attributes

This is a question regarding TCA Extension attributes. This feature is very useful and helpful for our requirements. However we require the ability to have date sensitivity for these extension records - i.e. store begin and end date for the profiles and keep historical record of the the various updates. Does anyone have suggestions in this regard?
