Task Re-assignment - Original user in earlier dated steps in the workflow replaced by re-assigned us

I used this feature previously, but it is the first time I noticed the original user is also replaced in earlier steps of the workflow progress and not just in the current step. However, the Audit Log stayed intact. The workflow progress visited steps are very confusing with the re-assigned task since the new user was not even registered in Unifier at the date of Creation of the Record. See attached.
