Is there way to upgrade component Instance Item Number without receiving it
Hi,
We have business requirement -
Our business usually sells products with a pre-installed software.
The Product has Bill Of Material.
Both the Customer Product and some components including the software are installed Base trackable.
Now, periodically new versions of the software (Software Upgrades) are released.
May be upon customer request or the company will by itself - send a serial number to the customer in order for them enable the software upgrades.
The serial number will not be shipped to the customer but emailed.
After upgrade, the item number/part number will change to a new part number.
This changed part number has to be reflected in the existing instance and the change has to be reflected in the configuration of the customer product instance.
