Task status defined in Task template taking Precedence & Task is stuck due to task Status transition

Hello,

We are facing an issue while creating tasks from a specific responsibility in R12.2.6 release.

Responsibility A can only use task statuses Open, Working, Closed as defined in the task status transition for this responsibility.

However, in our generic task template, we have set the default status of the task to In Planning (template is based on the item number).

Now, while creating SR, if the criteria for template matches then the task is created in status 'In Planning' as per template setup & the users are stuck as they can't update the task. Is there way other than setting up new task status transition (In Planning -> Open) to overcome this or to stop auto creating tasks via templates?
