How can we indicate that a work order is loaded on a machine in Discrete manufacting back to WIP so

We are in Oracle EBS 12.2.4 --> Discrete Manufacturing --> How can we indicate that the work order is loaded to a machine and as such Schedulers/Planners/ CSRs cannot update the work order status to something else or cancel, etc....?
