Same Lot number usage for 2 items in the organisation

Hi

Can we use the same lot number for 2 items in the stock. Is that possible.

This is to resolve a requirement to have LPN's in a non WMS orgs. If WMS in place we can have more than one item mapped to an LPN number, it can be packed, unpacked etc. I am trying to look at using the Lot number if it can store more than one item with a same lot number.
