Meter Rules in PM with Actuals Vs LTD values

Hi All

We have had a business requirement due to which we are altering the Meter rules such that the base interval is changed from 250 hours to 500 hours.

What we did notice is that when we add an additional line and mention the meter reading from where it should consider the change in the Base Interval - the system behaves exactly the same whether we input the meter readings values or the LTD meter reading values.

I am wondering how the form knows that both the values correspond to the same SMU capture?

Also, what if due to a meter reset for eg there are 2 meter readings with same number like a reading of lets say 1000 before the meter reset and reading of 1000 after meter reset. And we ask the system to consider the new base interval after the reading of 1000, how will the system know which reading of 1000 it has to refer to.
