R12.2.5 Inventoy org closing - pending transactions

Does the inventory closing looks at pending transactions transaction daet to identify any transactions that need processed for a given period before closing the period ?

If so,  of we have pending transactions for the period that needs closed ,can we change the transaction date to next period. Will that take care of any period close issues?
