Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Upgrading from 12.1.3 to 12.2.7.

Preinstall Step 1.7 Verify oraInst.loc (UNIX only)

Note: On a shared filesystem, oraInventory should be shared across nodes.

Due to this I am moving Central Inventory to a shared directory across all nodes

This is a 2 node RAC, with Primary appNode on a 3rd node. Will add 3 more appNodes later in the upgrade

The grid and db binaries are NOT on shared/clustered filesystem, the application binaries are on shared filesystem across all nodes.

As per MOS: Steps to Recreate Central Inventory in Real Applications Clusters (Doc ID 413939.1)

ran attachHome and failed for both grid and oracle home on both RAC nodes.
