LDAP sync error: <user-path> or <group-path> not "right"

I am attempting to sync the Agile user list from our LDAP server, using the Refresh Users from LDAP Directory button on the users tab in the Java client for Agile 9.3.5. I have performed this task many times before, with no previous issue.

A new user has been added to our LDAP (confirmed by IT to have been added correctly). I have not modified the LDAP server settings since the last new user was added. When I click the Refresh Users button, I get the warning to "Please make sure < user-path > or < group-path > is right. Job was cancelled due to this error!" Again, user-path and group-path have been double-checked and confirmed to be correct.
