Is mandatory to have a dedicated switch for the interconnect network of two nodes in a RAC DB?

Hi, we have this question for our next production database:

Is mandatory to have a dedicated switch for interconnect network in a production RAC DB?

Or we can use the same switch of the public network and isolate with vlans the NICS? (network team assure that is a super-powerful switch..)

Can you send me an official documentation to share with my network team?
