RMAN errors during backup

I'm new to Oracle.  I've been searching online for resolutions for the below error but have not been able to resolve this yet.

I did have the \ data drive expanded, has 80 GB free of 200 GB.  This is occurring during a full hot backup of a database.

connected to target database: GRIDCNTRL (DBID=00000000000)

RMAN-00554: initialization of internal recovery manager package failed

RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed.

Errors IN Rman.  Will eMail \database_logs\ServerName\GRIDCNTRL_hot_20180615_114753.tmp

Current Directory e:\oracle\admin\GRIDCNTRL\PFILE
