Reset Next Numbers

In our system, next numbers for 42 (Sales Order) is going to reach the maximum count which is 99999999 and we are not archiving the records in F42119. If we are planning to reset the next numbers back. Could you please let us know the impact of changing the next numbers especially when we are not archiving the data in F42119? Thanks for your help
