When to use single and multiple spreadsheet in Expense Report?

Hi All,

I want to configure expense report spreadhseet, but regarding to the documents there are two directories which are Single spreadsheet and multiple spreadhseet.

Anyone can explain what's different between those two and when to use single or multiple spreadhseet?
