fs.aio-max-nr kernel parameter change is it safe to apply it without rebooting while dbs are running

the fs.aio-max-nr parameter change is it safe to apply without rebooting while db are running ?

it's ODA X6.2 we receive from time to time the ORA-27090: Unable to reserve kernel resources for asynchronous disk I/O

we dont want to patch it now alternate solution would be to raise the fs.aio-max-nr kernel param

but what about applying it while the system is up and some DBs are running , will it arm anything

as it would be on the flie and not a persistent change .

Thanks
