Has anyone used MSBuild Tools instead of MS VS for JDE BSFN Builds

I want to know if any one has successfully installed and used MS Build Tools 2013 or 2010 for building JDE packages containing BSFNs/DLLs, instead of using the full blown MS Visual Studio tools. I am interested in considering using MSBuild, as it has the potential to reduce our MS licensing costs for MS VS.  I am fully aware that MS Build Tools are not certified by Oracle/JDE, so please don't respond with links to the certifications page.  I am interested in someone's success and/or experience with the MSBuild Tools.
