What is the difference between the Deffered COGS and COGS account in RMA RECEIPT?

what  is difference between the Deffered COGS and COGS account in RMA receipt in  inventory  material transactions?

Case 1.I have created RMA sales order with referring the Original sale order.

Two accounts are created  in  material transactions screen

1. Deffered COGS account

2.Standard cost update adjustment  account

I would like know what is purpose of above accounts?

Case 2.I have created RMA sales order without referring the Original sale order.

Two accounts are created

1. COGS account

I would like know what is purpose of above account?
