Appling patches to Oracle Database 12cR2(12.2.0.1.0)

Hi

   I have just finished applying the Apr-2018 release update patch on an oracle database 12c release 2(base version 12.2.0.1.0). The patching was successful but the base version remains the same and the version of the database is still the same. Is this Expected or did i omit some patches that i should have patched to change the base version. Used (Doc ID 2285557.1)
