What are the things I could check if applet search spec is not working?

I added a very simple search spec in an applet but it's not taking effect. The BC is Order Entry - Line Items and class is CSSSWEFrameListQuoteItemEC. The BC has no search spec and the applet has no script. What are the other things I can check?
