Parameter for LDAP Query in BI Publisher

Hello,

Would someone be able to clarify how to add parameters to a LDAP Query in a BI Publisher Data Model. I am working with BI Publisher 11.1.1.7. Is it possible to have parameters?

Table 4-1 in the following page mentions that it is possible, but I haven't been able to set up a filter with a variable.

For example, in my filter I have tried:

(memberOf=:groupName)

but that doesn't work.
