Purchase Order next status

Hi,

We have purchase orders with lines at last / next status of 230 / 280.  If another line is added to the PO the existing lines all have their next status revert back to 230.  Is there a way to prevent this?  I don't really see any processing options that may control this.

We are tools / apps 9.1.
