RMAN backup poor performance on Oracle MiniCluster

Good day, we are running our RMAN backups on an Oracle MiniCluster and haven't observed similar speeds as to what the Oracle documentation recorded when performing RMAN backups using the Oracle Database Appliance even though we applied the similar principles and best practices to our RMAN implementation. Any reason why we would have slow performing RMAN backups? With Basic compression our 700GB database takes hours to complete, this is backing up to the fast recovery area of the MiniCluster which has solid state drives, the Oracle Database Appliance RMAN performance benchmarks recorded 2.5TB per hour. Am I missing something or
