Loading Asset Life via WebADI

I am loading approximately 50,000 assets. About 20K have asset lives that no longer agree with the asset life reflected on the Asset Category. Is there a way I can load assets via webadi with an asset life that differs from that on the asset category? I have tried to do so, but have not been successful in loading a different asset life than that reflected on the asset category.
