Is there an API to ingredient pick a single line of a manufacturing batch

We are currently on EBS R12.2.7 using OPM without WMS.  We would like to ingredient pick OPM batchs but only for ingredients that have a specific raw material classification (e.g. - labels only).  This raw material classification is coded as a item category code on the item master record.   Currently, we ingredient pick a batch and then back-order all of the ingredients that we don't want to pick yet.  We are looking for an API that will allow us to ingredient pick a single line which we can select programmatically by the raw material type.  We tried the auto_detail_line procedure
