18.7 GW Cluster Rocks! Works Even Better Than Expected

Zookeeper cluster is very cool and works much better than I ever expected.  No wonder Uber runs on ZK.

Here are my results from our first test.

  • Three znodes 195, 196, 197.  197 was elected as leader.  Easy to tell by connecting to each server with srvrmgr always connects to 197.
  • Kill 197 GW registry service and Tomcat.
    • 195 became new leader.
    • All OM users not impacted.
    • Server manager sessions not impacted.
    • New logins work just fine.
  • Restart 197 GW registry service and Tomcat.
    • 197 self-heals and rejoins the znode ensemble.
  • Kill 195.
    • 197 becomes new leader.
    • All OM users and server manager sessions not impacted at all.
