Upgrading Solaris 10 to Solaris 11 for E-Business 12.2

We are starting a project to upgrade all our solaris sparc-64 operating systems from 10 to 11. The following MOS note is what I am using for a reference:

Application Tier Platform Migration with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 2048954.1)

We do not plan to rename the servers or change the IP addresses. All our database files and binaries are on a SAN. We have a multi-node installation using a shared file system.

I have some questions I hope you can assist with:

1. For the database, do we really need to clone the tech stack or can we just relink all the binaries?
