Is there a way to configure email listener to trigger a script or an event

Hi,

As we all know, currently listeners are only used by workflow for approvals.Is there a way to leverage the email listener to trigger a script or run a concurrent program or an event in the application

We are currently in Oracle EBS R 12.2.5 version.
