single GoldenGate 12c installation in Target server to extract from remote Source DB and replicate i

I'm new to GoldenGate and I was just wondering if this is at all possible for OGG 12.2.0.1?

Basically Server1 will have the target Database and the GoldenGate installation. It will connect to a source database on server2, but the extract and replicate processes will be configured in server1.

If so, is this documented anywhere by Oracle? I might have to go down this route since I currently do not have access to the source DB server.
