exadata patching question

Hi,

I have a question about the patching.  The doc id 888828.1 states that the new updated ACFS drivers required for the mos efficient CVE-2017-5715 (Spectre Variant 2) mitigation in exadata version >=18.1.5 and >= 12.1.1.7 are included in the July 2018 quarterly PSU for the GRID home.  Does this mean we have to apply the July PSU to GRID home for our 12.1.0.2 GI home and then we can apply the exadata updates that are in the 18.1.7 for the OS? Has anyone applied the July quarterly updates in their exadata environment?
