R12.1.0.2 - Datapatch question

Hello,

We are upgrading our oracle applications from  EBS 11i to R12.2.7.     As part of the upgrade  ,   we have to apply many required database patches.     This takes around 90 mins to manually apply all the patches.  In order to save time , we are trying to do the following

11i  database version :   12.1.0.2 

Clone 11i database files to new server.

Oracle home :   We are using   12.1.0.2 oracle home + all the mandatory patches  applied to this oracle home.       Only database files is copied.       Once we do this ,  oracle home and database are not in sync with all the patches.  Our idea is to run only the post patching steps of all patches .   For example  :   datapatch
