Using the PBCO feature to post journal entries to prior periods

Hello,

We don't currently utilize the PBCO feature and change the GL period to post to prior periods. This can lead to extended periods of time that we are unable to change the period, as payroll would like the period to be static during their entire run.

We would like to use the PBCO functionality, but have concerns with what other users would be able to do with this functionality on.

Is there a way to identify what applications would change by turning this on?

Is there a way to limit this change to only allow journal entries to be created in the prior periods?
