BOM quantity and inverse usage defaulting to 1 for new component

Hi,

While you adding component in Bill of Material for assembly item, Quantity and Inverse Usage get default to 1 even before component is selected. It seems this is standard oracle functionality. But we want to stop this default value. Kindly let me know if we can do this without customization?
