How to sort in a V3 Analytics Pivot Table

I have a combined report that has a pivot table to display the results.  On the Criteria tab, when on the Result Columns the drop down box on each field allows for sorting.  I've tried sorting on one field, two fields, ultimately three which is what I need and it doesn't sort at all.  How do you sort columns in a pivot table in V3 Analytics?  The help page shows the old reporting explanation.
