Exadata Disk Controller with 2GB cache - No More batteries

edited Sep 1, 2018 11:20AM in Exadata General (MOSC) 13 commentsAnswered ✓

In Exadata X7 documentation, there is written that disk controllers do not contain batteries.

Does it mean that only Write-Through cache is used?
In case we have Write-Back cache mode, we are at risk to lose some data that is in controller's cache when power fails.

How Oracle managed to remove the battery?
