Looking for alternative ways for iStore carts to become Quotes

Out of the box you we know you have to use the "Ask for Assistance" features within the iStore in order to get the Cart to become a Quote.

Is there an API that can be called in order to ensure that each and every iStore Cart just becomes a Quote in the Quoting module and saves us from having to manually do the Assistance process?
