Using Epson TMT88V with xstore 5.5

Our IT department has been tasked with opening up a store on xstore 5.5 with the Epson TMT88V printer.

No matter what we do to load that config for this printer, it prints the logo on the receipt and then says unable to print.  The log file shows:

Caused by: jpos.JposException: UnicodeDLL:-10An undefined parameter value was set.
