Fixed Assets Project Source Line Transfer

We have an asset in CIP assigned to a project number 12345

When we source line transfer a portion of those assets to another asset it takes the old project number 12345 and does not allow me to assign a different project number.

How can I source line to a new asset and assign a new project number?
