SIP Pre-emptive Symmetric Media Latching
Hello,
I have a number of Session Agents that are behind NAT'd firewalls and require "symmetric-latching" to be enabled for RTP to properly flow.
Recently we ran into an issue where a call was being forwarded by the far side media server and both the Acme and far-side SBC were waiting for RTP.
It seems that changing "symmetric-latching enabled" to "symmetric-latching pre-emptive" should fix this issue.
My question is if there is any reason why not to always use pre-emptive instead of enabled.
What are the possible side effects of using pre-emptive instead of enabled?
Thank you,
Abe
