TFA version on ODA

I see that the newest TFA collector includes JRE 1.8, but our ODA currently runs a lower JRE version.  My SA is concerned installing the latest TFA with JRE 1.8 will affect the JRE in use by other processes.

Can the latest and greatest TFA version be installed safely over the existing TFA version on ODA software?
