Configure Auto Suggest by Branch?

We are in the middle of our testing/UAT for 9.2 upgrade (tools 9.2.2.2). We have had quite a few of our users express an undesired affect with the auto suggest on the Item field. It would be nice if the items could be limited to the 'branch', instead of a mass pull from the item master. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, it seems that in our current 9.0 (with no auto suggest) the system remembers the item numbers previously typed and with auto suggest it doesn't remember.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
