Stop Depreciation for assets without retiring

Dear All,

We are on R12.1.3 version and we have a case where we need to stop the depreciation of assets in Oracle assets FA module. We do not want to retire them now, just want to do something on a list of assets through which they are not picked by depreciation in the current month and in future for a while.

Could you please advise if we have any setup, process in Oracle FA through which this can be attained ? If yes, do we have any option through which mass changes can be made ?

We tried our hands at one of the asset by trying to disable the "DEPRECIATE" flag in transaction history level but Oracle says "Field is protected against update". As we are stuck here, seeking experts help on how we could proceed in this scenario.
