Admin user needs new email address in OATS Admin

Is there any problem associated with changing an email address on the Admin User in OATS Admin?  The name of the user is Administrator and the email address is for someone who is no longer with our company.  I'd like to know the reason for having an email address for this user if anyone could tell me.  I wasn't able to find any information on this in the knowledge base by searching.  I know this was used to initially set up OATS but I don't believe email's were being sent to the address that was shown.  I also know that
