Update slow + free buffer waits as top in the report

Dear, i have one database it was very, slow they were updating a table with 60 millions of rows, and after that they did an alter table and this takes long time, they did the same in nonproduction database and activities were more quickly.

When looking on awr report we could see free buffer waits as top in the report.

Does somebody know how can start to check this issue and how can get a light how to solve this one?.
